As promised, Expert’s exciting news is that MoST5 now has its own chatbot in the form of an AI Assistant.

To quote Google, an AI assistant is a software application that utilises artificial intelligence to understand natural language, process commands, and perform tasks to assist users. These assistants can operate as voice-based (like Siri or Alexa) or text-based (like chatbots) and are built on advanced technologies like natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and data analysis. They help automate workflows, answer questions, and offer personalised recommendations, continually learning from user interactions to improve their ability to anticipate needs. 

Expert’s AI Assistant is a text-based chatbot and it comes as part of our new MoST5 software platform. The good news is that we don’t charge for the AI Assistant component, as it’s included in MoST5, however there is a small cost charged by Open AI. This charge is based on usage, so it’s not able to be quoted on as a monthly service fee, like software leases and hosting are. Usage tokens are purchased from Open AI direct by the client, not via Expert.

How it works.

• Your website needs to be on a MoST5 platform – more about this below
• You sign up with Open AI direct and purchase usage tokens using a credit card. You can provide Expert with the key which Expert will imbed in your website, or you can do this yourself. Once the tokens are used up, more are issued automatically and charged to your credit card by Open AI. They’re really cheap and the cost can be monitored over a period of say, 3, 6 or 12 months by you to give an indication of usage by visitors to your website.
• The chatbot does not need a human being in the background to answer the questions and is available 24/7. It relies on using artificial intelligence and searches your website for answers. If it can’t find the answer in the website, it tells the enquirer to contact your organisation direct using the Contact Us page on your website (a form can be created by Expert for this purpose)
• The Open AI costs can be found here. We’d recommend our clients use GBT4.0 mini to ask the question and Text-embedding-3-small for the assistant to provide the answer (this evaluates the content)

MoST5 and AI Assistant

If your website sits on an earlier version of MoST (MoST3 or MoST4) it will need to be upgraded to MoST5. MoST5 is a vastly improved product using the latest technology and the main thing that’s noticeable for the user is the increased speed. Changing over to the new platform doesn’t require the website to be redesigned or rebuilt, however some clients use the changeover to give their existing site a design refresh.

Tip: if you want to provide a chatbot on your website, now would be a good time to check the content to ensure it is information-rich, current, and accurate.

Benefits of using MoST’s AI Assistant as your chatbot

There are two major benefits of using the MoST Chatbot that quickly come to mind – the ease and the cost.

Ease: An AI Assistant is already built into the MoST5 platform and the website administrator can simply imbed the AI Assistant key or get Expert to do it for them – it has a user-friendly interface.

Cost: According to Google, the cost of a chatbot for a website varies widely, ranging from free to thousands of dollars per month, depending on the complexity, features, and development method. Basic chatbots for small businesses can cost between $30-$150 per month. In some cases, the usage is charged as an extra, which is added on top of the lease cost.

Expert includes the MoST Chatbot / AI Assistant as part of the lease cost of MoST5, so apart from the very small cost from Open AI, it’s free and with no strings attached!
